What we do with the money we raise
Our goal is to raise $50,000 per year. With this money, we fund up to $40,000 in unrestricted grants to up to three Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC)-led racial justice organizations per year, especially (but not exclusively) New England-based organizations. The organizations we fund go through an application process and are carefully selected by our Board of Directors.
Any funds raised in excess of the $40,000 for our grant program will support our other programming, including our winter anti-racism challenge, our one part-time staff member, and other operational costs.
We are a volunteer-led organization. Our executive director, all our volunteers, and all our board members are unpaid. We employ one part-time employee who is responsible for managing the hike-a-thon as well as the winter anti-racism challenge. We work to keep costs as low as possible so that we can put more money back into the community.
